Pete Farrer

March 8, 1943 — October 26, 2015

Mr. Pete Farrer, age 72, of Rabun Gap, formerly of Toccoa, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a courageous and positive minded battle with cancer.
Born March 8, 1943 in Sandersville, GA, he was the son of the late Melvin T. and Mary Lee Hartley Farrer.
Mr. Farrer was a member of the Toccoa First Baptist Church and was a retired Corporal with the Georgia State Patrol. He loved his family and was very proud of their accomplishments. To his grandchildren and his many friends he was known affectionately as "Popper". Pete enjoyed traveling and sports, especially UGA Football.

Family members include his wife of 54 years, Penny Bridges Farrer of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Tamera and Kenneth Cash of Toccoa and Michele and Dale Williams of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Chan Cash, Jace Williams, and Kenzie Cash; sister Melvina Farrer Blocker of Wadley, GA; a niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Farrer Hutchins.
Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Preacher Sam Letson and Mr. Andy Pavliscsak officiating.


Entombment will follow at Roselane Mausoleum.

Georgia State Troopers will serve as pallbearers.
Military Honors will be provided by the Georgia State Patrol.
Honorary Escort will be Peace Officers Retired or Active and Rabun County EMT.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm Wednesday.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to any Veterans Organization, Rabun Paws 4 Life, or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
