Ralph Dickerson

Ralph Jenkins Dickerson, 97, of Clayton, Georgia., died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton.

Born in Hartwell, Georgia., May 6, 1917, he was the son of the late V.C. Dickerson, Sr., and Minnie Hendrix Dickerson, and he had lived most of his life in Clayton. He was a merchant in food stuffs and feed store and was an agriculture inspector for the State of Georgia where he retired years ago. He was supportive of many organizations in Rabun County and was a volunteer in the Clayton Fire Dept. in his earlier days. He was a loyal member of the Clayton First United Methodist Church. He was the last member of his immediate family. He was twice married- first to the late Evelyn McMillan Dickerson and later to the late Ernestine Cass McGee Dickerson.

Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death, besides his parents and his wives, by a daughter, Sandra Lema, by a sister, Doris Dickerson and three brothers, Charlie Mac Dickerson, J.H. Dickerson and V.C. Dickerson, Jr., and is survived by a granddaughter, Kelli Ramey (Donald) of Conyers, GA., and by two great grandchildren, Trevor Ramey and Coryn Byers., several nephews and nieces and by Ernestine’s family, Two daughters, and a son and their families.

A memorial service will be held Saturday July 26, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at the Clayton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Charlie Green officiating.

The body has been cremated and there will be a visitation at Hunter Funeral Home Friday July 25, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. and a visitation at the Church Fellowship Hall Saturday July 26, 2014 from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour). The family is at their respective residences. Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in his memory, to Paws for Life, 261 Boen Creek Road Tiger, GA. 30576, Operation Homefront 1355 Central Parkways Suite 100 San Antonio, TX 78232, Alzheimer’s Organization http:m.alz.org/donateasp.
