Rev. Roy Lee Conner

Rev. Roy Lee Conner, 76, of Dillard, GA., died Sunday December 13, 2015 at his home.

He was a Church of God Minster and had pastored the Persimmon Church of God, the Mountain City Church of God, the Tiger Church of God and the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. He was an excellent stone mason and builder.

Born in Dillard, Georgia., April 22, 1939 he was the son of the late Minyard Conner and Lessie Ayers Conner. He was the husband of Edith Henslee Conner.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shannon Marie Vargo Conner, a brother, Rev. Jack Conner and a sister, Eleanor Conner Henson and is survived by his wife Edith H. Conner of the home, five sons, Chuck Conner (Traci) of Rabun Gap, Jeff Conner (Artie) of Otto, NC., Hank Conner (Melissa) of Rabun Gap, Mark Conner, (Salena) of Rabun Gap and Rev. Bryan Alexander (Rachel) of Mt. City. Three daughters, Theresa Conner Talley (Keith) of Rabun Gap, Rachel Marie Conner of Hayesville, NC., Rachel Alexander Justice (Todd) of Rabun Gap. Four brothers, twin brother, Rev. Ray Conner (Janet) of Dillard, Cliff Conner (Margie) of Clayton, Steve Conner (Sue) of Mt. City, Bill Conner (Eloise) of Clayton. Two sisters, Reva Conner Bradley, of Charlotte, NC., and Martha Conner Speed (Bill) of Dillard. Thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday December 15, 2015 at the Clayton Church of God with Rev. Bryan Alexander, Rev. Clay Patton and Rev. Hank Conner officiating. Rev. Harvey Conner will conduct the graveside service at Newman Chapel Cemetery, Otto, NC.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to the Clayton Church of God Monday December 14, 2015 where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. The family is at the home on Ft. Black Circle, Dillard, GA.
