Rodney Daniel Joyner

Rodney Daniel (Dan) Joyner, 74, of Clayton, Ga. died Tuesday morning May 3, 2016 at his home. He was born in Fort Valley, Georgia July 9, 1941 to the late James D. Joyner and Minnie Jewell Jackson Joyner.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Leighton D. Joyner and Matthew L. Joyner, one brother, William R. Joyner and his wife Barbara Lord. Mr. Joyner is survived by his wife Donna Lang Joyner, Clayton, two sisters and their husbands, Jewell Joyner Nixon (Robert) of Griffin, Ga., Jacqueline Joyner Sanders (Thomas) of Byron, Ga. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Joyner was a retired English Professor for Valdosta State University.

According to Mr. Joyner’s directives, his body has been cremated and no services are planned.
