Rosalee Snider Wood, age 82, of Gainesville, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
Born on May 26, 1943, in the Pine Mountain Community of Clayton, she was a daughter of the late Novie and Lela Bottoms Snider. She was also preceded in death by her seven siblings and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
After Rosalee earned her associate’s degree, she began a long and dedicated career at Belk, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2008. She found joy in the simple beauty of the Georgia mountains, often traveling and exploring the places she loved most. A devoted caregiver, she selflessly tended to her parents and two of her sisters with unwavering compassion and grace. She cherished time spent with those she loved and was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Tom Stevens; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Jonna Wood; grandchildren and their spouses: Brian Cannon (Kara), Ashley Underwood (Kevin), and Sarah Hayes (Alex); and great-grandchildren: Brooks Cannon, Elise Underwood, Isabella Hayes, and Beck Cannon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Hunter Funeral Home with Chaplain Carrie Barnes officiating. A private family burial will be held at Mountain Rest Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the service hour on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
