Rudy Dean York

Rudy Dean York, age 77, of Marion, Kentucky, passed away on October 29, 2025.

Rudy was born on December 31, 1947, in Rabun County, Georgia, to the late John and Sarah York. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970, working as a mechanic on the B-52 Bomber. Rudy had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden and flowers. He was never one to sit still—whether working with his hands or traveling; he was always moving.

He is survived by his three children, Shane York, Julie Pope (Steven), and Priscilla York; grandchildren, Alex Pope (Adla) and Adreana Brown (Justin); great-grandchildren, Rylee Brown and Aniyah Brown; two brothers, Doyle York (Vicki) and Robert York; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Terry York.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Hunter Funeral Home, with Rev. Cale Stancil officiating. Burial will follow in Wolffork Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hunter Funeral Home.
