Shelby Ann Love, age 58, of Clayton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 with her family by her side.

 

Shelby was born on January 11, 1965 in Rabun County, Georgia to the late Travis Love and Claudia Nichols Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, Josh Hooper; and her brother, Daniel Buchanan.

 

Shelby grew up to be a smart and accomplished individual. As a high schooler, she excelled academically, earning the distinction of being a straight-A student. Her passion for learning and commitment to excellence set the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and resilience. Shelby dedicated her life to the textile industry, where her unwavering work ethic and determination made a lasting impact. Her commitment to her professional endeavors was matched only by her desire to care for others. Shelby was a giver at heart, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, making her a cherished member of her community. Above all, Shelby found her greatest joy and fulfillment in her roles as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family meant everything to her, and she poured her love into each relationship. To her adoring grandchildren, she was affectionately known as "Nana Shelby," a title that reflected the warmth and love she brought into their lives. Shelby was a born again Christian and attended North Clayton Church

 

Survivors include her loving daughters, Brandie Gibson, of Otto, NC; Kenzie Moss, of Greenville, SC; son, Jesse Hooper, of Clayton; second mother, Beulah Love, of Clayton; sister, Shannon Speed, of Warwoman; brother, Shawn Buchanan, of Clayton; -sister, Tina Owens, of Clayton; brothers, Scott Watts and Greg Watts, both of Clayton; grandchildren, Chase Floyd, Izzabella Gibson, Molly Hunnicutt, Rustyn Martin; very special nieces, nephews, and cousins; her beloved dog, Baby; and her granddog, Lill-Bear.

 

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the North Clayton Church with Pastor Marvin Reid officiating.
