Shirley Jean Gabrels

Shirley Jean Winstead Gabrels, age 82, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on February 22, 2026.

She was born on April 26, 1943, to the late Manson R. Winstead and Annie Mae Patton Winstead. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Gabrels; her granddaughter, Madeline Henslee; her sister, Betty Shirley-Chambers; and her beloved puppy, Roxie.

Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Tracy Hardin (Mark) and Angela Peacock (Stephen); her grandchildren, Dylan Hardin, Kallen Henslee (Megan), Dalton Jameson (Sarah), Garrett Jameson, and Aleasha Jimenez (Johnny); and her great-grandchildren, Riley Swett, Gio Jimenez, Addison Jimenez, Emily Henslee, Lane Henslee, and Gabriel Jameson. She also leaves behind her brother, David Winstead (Nancy), and her sister, Margaret Winstead. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hills Crossing Baptist Church.
