Sybil Damaris Keller, age 85, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025—the same date on which her brother, Randall Godfrey, passed away exactly eighteen years prior.
She was born on September 12, 1939, to the late John and Martha Godfrey. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rollie Keller.
Damaris was a devoted, die-hard Atlanta Braves fan. Most evenings, you could find her watching a Braves game—cheering loudly when they played well and just as passionately yelling at the TV when they didn’t. Affectionately nicknamed the “Frog Lady,” she was best known to many as “Ms. D from Circle M,” or simply as the warm-hearted woman who called everyone “Hunny,” "Baby," “Darlin’,” or “Sweetie.” She loved her family deeply, and if anyone crossed one of them, her fierce “Mama Bear” spirit would come out without hesitation.
She is survived by her three daughters: Renee Smith (Johnny), Rollette Keller-Hodges (Darryl), and Roxanne Daniel (Chris); grandchildren: Misty Smith, Cory Keller (Christy), Justin “Judge” Hodges (Amy), Jamie Abernathy (Paul), Chance Hodges, Allison Johnson (Mikey), and Briley Daniel; and great-grandchildren: Colton Pruitt, Caroline Noll, Cade Keller, Claire Abernathy, Megyn Hodges, Elijah Hodges, Jace Keller, Caleb Abernathy, Maddux Hodges, Cooper Abernathy, Skylar Johnson, Joplyn Earwood, and Carter Johnson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Johnnie Ann Robertson, Randall Godfrey, Rhonda Bruce, and Dale Clark.
