Virginia "Inez" Bower

Virginia “Inez” Gordon Bower, age 69, of Clayton, GA passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on February 1, 1953, in Rabun County to the late Thomas Joe and Ruth Ramey Gordon and she was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Dale Bower who passed away in 2015. She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She worked for several years at the Rabun County Library.

She is survived by three sisters, Wilma Gordon of Clayton, GA, Ruby Gipson (Larry) of Clayton, GA, Anna Findley (James) of Westminster, SC; three brothers, TJ Gordon (Christine) of Clayton, GA, Curtis Gordon of Clayton, GA, and Wayne Gordon (Susan) of Rabun Gap, GA; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Alice Gordon.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Chechero Baptist Church with Rev. John Hutcheson Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Chechero Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence of Ruby Gipson for anybody to come by and pay their respects.
