Wanda Blalock

Wanda Taylor Blalock, age 70, of Toccoa, Georgia formerly of Clayton, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023 surrounded by her family after an extended illness.

Wanda was born June 13, 1952 in Habersham County and was raised in Rabun County. She was the daughter of John B. Taylor and Odessa Breedlove Taylor. She was married to her soul mate, Ernest Jackson Blalock who passed away in 2011.

Wanda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her kids and grandchildren unconditionally. She loved to drink coffee, play bingo and watch NASCAR. She adored and babied her sweet chihuahua "Luna" and always considered Luna another baby in the family. Being at her home was her happy place.

She is survived by one daughter, Shelia Harris (Curtis Richard); two grandchildren, Alexis Holcomb and Jackson Harris; two great-grandchildren, Ryker Holcomb and Kash Usher; two bonus grandkids Jasper Richard Turpin and Isabelle Richard Turpin; five sisters, Linda Vandiver, Windi Carnes, Johnnie Channey, Jackie Benefield, and Joyce Esposito; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held at Toccoa Christian Church on May 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm, 49 Ramsey Rd. Toccoa, GA, with Pastor Gary Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
