Wilse Erving Hampton, known to many as Baldy, 84 ,of Tiger, Ga. died Thursday morning ,
March 24, 2016 at his residence. Born in Waynesville, N.C., November 30, 1931 to the late
Kimsey and Marie Campbell Hampton.
Baldy was an Army Veteran in the Korean War and was a Truck driver and a Heavy Equipment
Operator, he was a member of the , D.A.V. and the V.F.W. and was the last Charter member of
the Rabun County Rescue , and was a member of the Boggs Mtn. Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death besides his parents by two sisters , Agnes Lamb and Reba Hampton ,
and by a grandson , Chris Taylor, and is survived by , his wife of the home , Mary Mashburn
Hampton , one daughter Vonda Hughes, one brother and sister – in – law, Wade and Margie
Hampton of Reseca , Ga. , and one sister , Patsy Nicholson , Morganton , Ga. , two grandchildren
and a several nieces and nephews , cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 26, 2016 at 11 am.at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral
Home with the Rev. Larry Cannon officiating. Burial will be in the Harvey Cemetery 534 Rock
Mtn. Road , Tallulah Falls , Ga. .
The body is at the Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to
8 pm. The family is at their respective residences.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Rabun County EMA/Rescue
145 Syrup City Road , Tiger , Ga. 30576.
